With 2 days remaining for the Prelims exam, hope all are well prepared for the exam.Give a quick revision to the important chapters from books etc in next 2 days ,do not overstretch and study with a relaxed mind.Even if you feel you are less prepared, nothing to worry, you can clear cut off with whatever you have studied till now and whatever you will study in next 2 days,a lot depends on the question paper .
Its natural for most of the aspirants to feel that they are lacking in syllabus completion or revision ,or get disturbed by recent scores in test series and test papers questions etc,but remember that none of these matter on October 4.
You will have a different set of questions infront of you than the test papers you have solved and your performance in those few hours will only matter at the end of the day.
Mindset is more important on the day of exam, you have to enter the exam hall with a mindset that you will clear the cut off .In some questions try to apply all background knowledge, correlations techniques etc to arrive at a suitable answer or to use elimination strategies to conclude final answer. In conceptual question papers there is scope to derive at the correct options by using background related knowledge to reach the correct answer.
If the paper is tough ,it will be the same for everyone giving the exam, one should not get nervous even before attempting the paper, full paper should be completed with a relaxed mind. Also,Paper 1 performance should not affect your mind during Paper 2.One simply cannot judge one’s performance himself/herself or by discussing with aspirants at the centre. Your performance in paper 1 may not be as per your expectations but may be above the probable cut off.
Do take various precautions which are needed in current scenario, such as masks and sanitizers, have a good sleep the day before exam,it really helps in using the brain during exam hours, specially in Paper 2. In Paper 2 do not give more than required time to any question, try to solve as many as you can correctly in the first round and then get back to lengthier or tougher questions in second round .Many aspirants get stuck in some questions and are unable to complete the paper. We suggest,if one has time,to do previous 2 years UPSC CSAT paper 2 as tests in next 2 days .It will help in carrying the momentum of solving paper 2 on exam day.Or just go through the previous 2 years papers with solutions if you do no have time to solve the question papers.
Do not think about cut off ,success/failures in prelims etc as of now, sole aim should be to study whatever you are studying or have planned to study without any mental load.
