Our analysis of the recent question papers shows that Biology Class 12th NCERT is of utmost importance for answering questions related to Environment and Bio-technology. Many questions have come directly from these chapters in previous years such as questions on-

So, second half of the book is very important from prelims point of view, and first half can be comfortably ignored if you have less time. This statement is based on analysis of past 8 years question papers of UPSC Preliminary Exam.
